Research

  • I am interested in how cells perceive extracellular cues and coordinate their precise responses. The recruitment of immune cells is necessary for effective immune responses but can also contribute to inflammatory diseases. To be recruited over long-distances, migratory cells must establish a front-back axis, just like a car. This polarity is established and maintained by complex signaling mechanisms to enable the cell to persistently migrate to a site of infection. I aim to close the gaps in our understanding of the signaling mechanisms of cellular migration to one day be able to directly manipulate a cell’s migratory course.
