Research

  • Successful pregnancies are dependent on proper interactions between the embryo and uterine environment. Previous studies have shown that uterine injury, including injury caused by Cesarean sections (C-sections), increases the risk of developing future pregnancy disorders which may compromise a woman's fertility and health. My project aims to investigate how uterine injury alters key uterine structures and biological mechanisms that are essential for embryo implantation and early embryonic development. By elucidating the long-term changes induced by uterine injury, my work aims to improve our understanding of how adverse uterine environments arise and to inform strategies for preventing pregnancy disorders in the future.
